Rive

rive.app/

Rive is a design-and-animation tool for building interactive UI, motion, and game content once and shipping it natively to iOS, Android, web, and engines like Unity and Unreal, positioning itself as the successor to Flash and Lottie. The homepage splits its pitch two ways at once: a visual editor pitched to designers and animators, and a CLI with AI-assisted generation pitched to developers, rather than picking one audience. It backs claims with round numbers rather than adjectives — "4x faster production," files "up to 90% smaller" than alternatives — and leans on a specific Spotify Wrapped case study citing "300 million engaged users, up 20%" and "630 million social shares, up 42%" as proof rather than a generic testimonial.

Rive design review: how the homepage is built

Rive's homepage captures to 5,330px on desktop, on black, with one dark grey band across the editor and runtimes. Its accent is the lime #9bc922 used for the mobile apps tile, with the brown #462b02 fill behind the gold-outlined buttons. Display type is Tomorrow, a squared technical face. The page runs through tiles, editor, runtimes, logo wall, testimonials, newsletter and footer. The distinctive choice is the tile row directly under the hero, which lets a visitor pick a use case, such as game interfaces or film and TV, before reading any product copy.

Above the fold

The hero centres a widely spaced RIVE wordmark over "THE INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE ENGINE", with three lines of supporting copy beneath. A gold-outlined "GET STARTED" button sits beside a dark "DOWNLOADS" button, with "AGENT NOW AVAILABLE" in red below them. Five framed tiles follow in a row, labelled "PRODUCT UI", "GAME UI", "MOBILE APPS", "FILM + TV" and "WEBSITES", with the mobile tile filled lime.

Editor and runtimes

A block headed "RIVE EDITOR" and "DESIGN, CODE, AND ANIMATE" shows a dark editor screenshot with a timeline panel and a violet globe scene. Beneath it, "RIVE RUNTIMES" and "BUILD ONCE, SHIP ANYWHERE" sit beside a logo grid of platforms: JS, Apple, macOS, Android and Flutter on the first row, then React, React Native, Framer, Webflow and Wix Studio, with C++, Defold, Unity and Unreal at the foot.

Logo wall and testimonials

A grey band headed "PRODUCTS BUILT WITH RIVE REACH OVER 2 BILLION USERS WORLDWIDE" lists brand logos in two rows. A paragraph sets Rive against After Effects, Figma, Lottie and CSS animation. Below it, eighteen testimonial cards in a three-column grid carry short quotes from engineers and designers, each with a name, handle and job title, and a few name Spotify, Dropbox and Duolingo in their job titles.

Closing section and footer

A pale input reads "email@rive.app" beside a "Sign Up" button, under the heading "JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER". The footer then runs six link columns, from Product through Case Studies, ending with "© Rive, Inc. All rights reserved." and a line stating that trademarks belong to their respective owners. Six social icons sit beside the wordmark, for YouTube, X, Instagram, GitHub, Dribbble and Discord.

On mobile

At 390px the hero wordmark and headline stack above a single row of tiles that scrolls sideways, with the lime mobile apps tile cut at the edge. The editor screenshot shrinks to a narrow strip, the runtimes logos fall into a grid of five per row, and the testimonial cards become one long column. The footer link groups sit in two columns above the social icons.

Worth borrowing

  • A widely spaced wordmark above a short all-caps headline keeps the brand line brief and hands the attention to the tiles beneath it.
  • A row of labelled use-case tiles directly under the hero lets a visitor choose a path before reading any product copy.
  • Eighteen testimonial cards in one grid, each with a handle and a job title, make social proof read as volume rather than a single quote.
