More blog pagesAncher design review: how the homepage is built
The Ancher homepage runs about 13,900 pixels at 1440 wide and has no navigation bar: the page opens on a small badge, "Download Ancher now", then the headline. Below come a framed blue video panel, a three-column comparison, four counters, three alternating feature rows, a six-card grid, a use-case carousel, three pricing tiers, a question list, a four-column security row, three blog cards, a closing card and a footer. The page is near-black with an orange (#eb7514) accent and blurred, painterly gradients in teal, violet and gold. Hedvig Letters Serif sets headlines.
Above the fold
A brown and orange brush-stroke background holds a dark pill with an orange "NEW" tag beside "Download Ancher now". The serif headline "Remember everything. Create anything." runs on one line, followed by a two-line subhead and an orange "Try for $0" button. A wide teal and blue panel follows, centered on a white input box that says "Save these for my agent commerce research".
Comparison, counters and three feature rows
"Different tools. Different starting points." heads three columns for Notion, Ancher and Obsidian, with Ancher's tinted brown. Four bordered counters read "40+", "1.4M+", "7.8M+" and "1.1M+" under "The new way to think, learn, and create." Three alternating rows pair a gradient image with an orange label and a short list: "Drop it in. Walk away.", "Ancher sees what you'd miss." and "Deliver your best work — in your voice."
Feature grid, download tabs and pricing
"Everything from save to shipped" opens six cards in two rows of three, with titles such as "Structured notes, automatically" and "Ask your knowledge". "Save from anywhere, on every device" pairs a browser mock-up with three expanding rows, "Web App" open. A carousel of three persona cards follows "Built for people who read, watch, and save for a living". The pricing section has a Monthly and Yearly toggle over "Free" at $0, "Digest" at $5/mo and "Pro" at $15/mo.
Questions, security, blog and footer
"Frequently asked questions." lists five collapsed rows beside the title. "Your data, guarded like it's ours" shows four outline-icon columns, the first "Bank-grade encryption". "Ideas worth keeping" shows three blog cards. The closing card says "Make personal knowledge usable again." with an orange "Download" button and a "Sign in" link. The footer has six link groups, including "Use Cases" and "Compare",.
On mobile
On a narrow screen the badge, headline and orange button stack into one centered column and the blue panel shrinks to a short banner. The three comparison columns, four counters, six feature cards and pricing tiers each become single-file stacks. The persona carousel shows one card with the next peeking in. The three feature rows put the image above the text, and the footer groups sit in two columns.
Worth borrowing
- Opening with a pill badge, "Download Ancher now", above the headline puts the download action first on a page with no navigation bar.
- Tinting the middle Ancher column brown between Notion and Obsidian makes a comparison table read as a recommendation.
- Painterly gradient images on feature cards keep a near-black page colourful.
