Cortex

cortex.io/

Cortex is an engineering operations platform that aggregates data across a company's engineering tools to track service ownership, readiness, and AI-adoption risk, under the headline 'Code is no longer the bottleneck. Everything else is.' It organizes its capabilities into a three-phase structure (unlock insights, focus on what matters, operate as one) and backs claims with named, dated customer results rather than aggregate stats: a 75% MTTR reduction at H&R Block, a 50% cycle-time cut at Skyscanner, and 3,000 RDS instances migrated in under two weeks at Rapid7. The site also promotes a named internal framework, DRIVE, credited to its own CTO, for measuring engineering output specifically in the context of AI-assisted development — a more specific positioning than generic 'developer productivity' framing.

Each section below is cropped straight from Cortex's live page — useful references for engineering & infrastructure landing page design.

Cortex design review: how the homepage is built

Cortex's homepage is a dark, near-black page (#1a1826 base) with a violet accent (#7458db) on its primary buttons and a pale blue (#cae8f5) strip for the EVOLVE event banner above the hero. At 1440px wide, the full-page capture runs 7930 pixels tall. The eyebrow "Mission Control for the AI Software Factory" sits over the headline "Code is no longer the bottleneck. Everything else is." Below the hero, dark product bands alternate with a light grey "Empowering world-class engineering teams" testimonial band, and the page closes on a dark violet call to action.

Above the fold

Above the fold, the headline sits over a violet "Book a live demo" button, with the subhead opening "The Engineering Operations Platform engineering leaders trust to ship faster". Below sits a tilted frame titled "DRIVE Framework OpEx Scorecard", with rows for "SVP Engineering" and "VP Engineering, Platform". Its toolbar shows share, sort and filter controls. Customer logos follow in two staggered rows.

Stats, maturity path and DRIVE book

Stats follow: "75%" beside "reduction in MTTR", "24h" beside "saved per newly created service" and "50%" beside "reduction in cycle time". The next band, "Every engineering organization is becoming an AI software factory", has a "Take the maturity assessment" button and a chevron sequence of three stages. Its last stage reads "Software factories autonomously produce software". A DRIVE block follows, with a book cover card captioned "Authored by Cortex CTO and co-founder Ganesh Datta".

Three-step cards and case-study tiles

The band "AI is transforming the SDLC. Your engineering org needs to keep up." holds three numbered cards: "Unlock insights", "Focus on what matters" over an "Operational Maturity" table, and "Operate as one" over a GitHub-to-HTTP pipeline diagram. Below, "How leading engineering organizations use Cortex" leads into a violet "Production Readiness" tile with "75%" and two smaller tiles, each with a figure such as "50%" or "24h".

Testimonials, audience columns and footer

The last stretch opens with a black EVOLVE band, "Join the Engineering Excellence movement", and an "Apply to attend" button. "The whole team wins with Cortex" lists four audience columns: "Engineering Leaders", "Platform Teams", "SRE Teams" and "Developers". Testimonials follow, then a "Start building your AI software factory with Cortex" band with a violet "Book a live demo" button ends the content. The five-column footer closes the page.

On mobile

At 390px the page becomes one column about 9442 pixels tall. The 2x2 stat grid replaces the desktop row, the maturity chevrons stack vertically, and the DRIVE book card drops below its paragraphs. The "Book a live demo" button stays under the headline, and the logo rows break into two cut-off lines at the edges. The footer groups stack into one long list.

Worth borrowing

  • Cortex places a dark product scorecard directly beneath its headline and "Book a live demo" button, so the product shows before any copy.
  • The numbered cards under "AI is transforming the SDLC." each pair a short heading with a product fragment rather than an icon.
  • The closing band repeats the hero's "Book a live demo" button above the footer.
