Xata
xata.io/
Xata lets teams spin up isolated, production-like Postgres branches in about 3 seconds for pull requests, CI runs, previews, or individual coding-agent tasks, then tears them down automatically. Its cost argument is spelled out numerically on the page: copy-on-write branching turns roughly 10 TB of duplicated storage for 100 daily PRs against 100 GB databases into about 400 GB, at a stated rate of "1,000 branches for $1." It also reports that half of current branch creation already comes from coding agents rather than humans, and shows a live-looking counter of 1,324 branches with 99.99% uptime. The site is explicit that it runs vanilla Postgres 18.3, not a fork, and offers a MotherDuck CEO quote alongside its GitHub-linked open-source repo as proof.

The home page runs 10,747 pixels on desktop: nav bar, hero with a branch diagram, logo grid, stat strip, shared-staging comparison, benefits, feature grid, automation cards, adoption paths, dashboard mock, cost example, platforms block, testimonials, closing call to action, footer. Colour is near-black, #0a0a0c and #162722 with greys #373739, #565658 and #979799, plus a violet accent on buttons. Geist and GeistMono set headlines and mono body copy. Distinctive for infrastructure: nearly every block contains a mock product interface, with status labels and numbers, instead of an illustration or stock photo.
HeroesView crop
The hero centres a two-line headline, "A Postgres branch for every pull request", under a pill reading "Xata is open source". A filled violet "Get started" sits beside a text-only "Watch a demo". Below, faded branch cards surround a lit "Production" card showing "1,324 branches", with "PR #842" and "PR #843" raised.
FeaturesView crop
A split mock follows "Modern development needs more than a single staging database." The left half, "SHARED STAGING", shows four amber warning rows; the violet right half shows four green checks and "No conflicts". A diagonal light seam divides them. Beneath sits a "BENEFITS" row of three icon-led columns.
Logo cloudsView crop
A small uppercase caption, "ENGINEERING TEAMS USE XATA FOR AGENTIC DEVELOPMENT", introduces eight logos in two rows of four, including Grid, numeric, GoTab and SafeStreets. Each renders in monochrome grey inside a faintly outlined cell, so no brand colour competes with the violet accent.
TestimonialsView crop
"What our users are saying" heads a horizontal carousel of dark cards. The centred card holds a logo tile, a quote truncated with an ellipsis, then "Chris Windsor" and "Lead Software Engineer, Safestreets". Neighbouring cards are cropped and dimmed, and two arrow buttons sit below.
CTAsView crop
The closing call to action is sparse: the line "Branch your database in seconds" over a filled violet "Get started" and an outlined "Get in Touch". A dotted texture fades in along the bottom edge, echoing the hero's dot field. No supporting paragraph appears.
FootersView crop
The xata logo, the tagline "Branch-native Postgres" and five social icons sit left. Five link columns follow: "PRODUCT", "SOLUTIONS", "RESOURCES", "DEVELOPERS" and "COMPANY". A hairline separates the legal row, with a copyright line at left and four policy links at right.
Pricing & PlansView crop
Pricing opens with three cards: "Open Source" at "Free", "Xata Cloud" at "$0.012/hr" with a "Most Popular" tab, and "BYOC" at "Quote". Below come an instance table from micro to 8xlarge, a tier table, a slider calculator totalling "$313.54", and a ten-question accordion.
About UsView crop
The about page starts with "Postgres at scale" beside a group photo and four bullets. Rows of X-post cards follow, then an "Open Source" block. "Backed by world-class investors and operators" shows six logos above thirteen circular portraits with names and titles.
Careers pagesView crop
The careers page leads with "Reinvent what the world thinks a database is capable of", then a dotted globe under "Join the Xata Global Team". A greyscale team photo precedes a six-cell "Our values" grid. It ends with "No open positions at the moment."
Blog pagesView crop
The blog inverts the theme to a white body under the dark nav. A tag filter at left runs from "All posts" to "pgzx". The centre column stacks dated entries with tag chips, titles, summaries and authors. A right card reads "Give every agentic workload its own Postgres branch".
On mobile
At 390px the hero headline wraps to four lines, buttons stack full-width, and the branch diagram shrinks to a short column. The logo grid drops to four logos, the stats form a two-by-two block, and the comparison panels stack vertically. The testimonial carousel shows one card, and mock-UI labels become very small.
Worth borrowing
- Pair a problem mock with a solution mock in one split frame, as with "SHARED STAGING" against the violet xata panel.
- Express savings as arithmetic: "2,400 hours" against "9 hours", with bars labelled "99.625% less".
- Place a small violet eyebrow, such as "BENEFITS", above each large headline to label sections in a monochrome page.
