Kiro

kiro.dev/

Kiro is AWS's agentic coding tool that turns prompts into executable specifications before code is written, then validates the result with property-based (fuzz) testing rather than relying only on unit tests. The homepage headline, "Move beyond AI coding to agentic engineering," frames three capabilities: converting prompts to specs, catching bugs unit tests miss, and running parallel agents that carry learnings between sessions. It argues "All tests passed" doesn't guarantee code matches intent, using that gap to justify its spec-first approach. The site also states availability across IDE, CLI, web and mobile, a student program it says has reached 132 universities, and no daily or weekly rate limits — specific, checkable claims rather than generic reassurance.

Kiro's landing page, section by section

Each section below is cropped straight from Kiro's live page — useful references for engineering & infrastructure landing page design.

Kiro design review: how the homepage is built

The page runs top to bottom as a black header and hero, a lilac-framed product screenshot, four alternating text-and-panel rows, a three-column feature row, a scrolling testimonial strip, a dark guides panel, a seven-question FAQ and a violet closing card. It is 7722 pixels tall on desktop. Black dominates, with #9147ff on buttons and the closing card and #c69eff behind the screenshot. AWS Diatype Rounded Semi Mono sets the headings and AWS Diatype the body text, which gives headings a terminal feel. A white ghost mascot recurs in the guides and closing card.

Above the fold

The header carries a ghost icon with "KIRO", six nav labels from "APPS" to "RESOURCES", an outlined "SIGN IN" and a white "DOWNLOADS". "Move beyond AI coding to agentic engineering" runs over two lines of monospaced type above a grey paragraph. Three violet buttons follow: "Download Kiro Crew", "Download IDE" and an "Install CLI" button holding a copyable curl command. A narrow "WHAT'S NEW" column at right lists three items.

Screenshot frame and spec-driven rows

A lilac rounded frame holds an app window overlapped by a dark terminal with a round play button, above the link "View transcript: Kiro CLI demo: starting a cloud session". Rows then pair text at left with a dark panel at right. "Bring structure to AI coding with spec-driven development" pairs with a panel of three tabs, "Requirements", "Design" and "Tasks",. "Check correctness to catch issues missed by unit tests" pairs with a "Property 2" card.

Integrations, models, features and testimonials

"Alongside you from plan to PR" sits beside a grid of eight app icons over "GitHub", "GitLab" and "CI/CD". "Powered by your favorite models" shows a dropdown of model names. "Built for the way you work" has three icon columns: "Built on open standards", "Enterprise-ready" and "Predictable pricing". Under "Trusted by engineers worldwide", bordered quote cards with round avatars scroll sideways, one signed "Kento Ikeda".

Guides, FAQ and closing card

"Get started fast with quick guides" sits holds one large violet card, "Learn by playing: create a video game", beside two stacked cards tagged BLOG and GUIDE, "Does your code match your spec?" and "Your first project". "Common questions" lists seven closed rows with plus signs, starting "What is Kiro?", above "Browse all FAQs". The page ends on a full-width violet card, "Build something real in minutes", repeating the three download buttons.

On mobile

At 390 pixels the page is 9232 pixels tall. The three hero buttons collapse into a single full-width "Share download link" button, and "WHAT'S NEW" drops below it. Each panel moves above its heading. Testimonials show one card at a time with a row of dots, and guide cards stack. A footer appears with "PRODUCT", "COMMUNITY", "RESOURCES" and "SOCIAL" link groups.

Worth borrowing

  • A copyable curl command inside the hero button row signals a developer tool at a glance.
  • Pairing every feature heading with a dark product panel at right, with panels moving above text on mobile, keeps a long page visual.
  • Closing on a violet card with the ghost mascot and the same three buttons gives the page a clear last action.
