Slack

slack.com/

Slack is a workplace messaging platform that has folded in AI agents and automation, built around Slackbot and a set of built-in workflow tools. The homepage headline, "All your people and AI agents working together," is followed by a dense wall of specific usage numbers rather than soft claims: 700 million messages sent daily, 4 million weekly Slack Connect users, 3 million daily workflows, and 1.7 million apps used weekly. Trust signals lean on named executives rather than logos alone — a quote from Kate Jenson at Anthropic and Guillermo Rauch at Vercel sit alongside video case studies from MrBeast and Rivian, an unusual mix of a YouTube creator and an EV manufacturer as reference customers for the same enterprise tool.

Slack design review: how the homepage is built

Slack's homepage is a white desktop page about 11554 pixels tall, with the wordmark and the note "from Salesforce" at the top. It runs from the hero through AI features, a What's new strip, statistics and a closing purple call to action into a multi-column footer. The palette is a plum #611f69 for buttons and accents, a darker #44065a for the bands and a near-white #fefdfe for the page. Detected typefaces are Salesforce Avant Garde and Salesforce Sans. For productivity software, the distinctive move is a real-looking channel window in the hero rather than an abstract illustration.

Above the fold

The headline "All your people and AI agents working together." sits in large black type over two lines, followed by "Slack connects your team. Slackbot multiplies what they can do." Two buttons come next: a filled purple "GET STARTED" and an outlined "FIND YOUR SUBSCRIPTION". A row labelled "Trusted by top teams" lists seven grey logos. Below, a product mockup shows the channel account-a1-company beside a Slackbot panel that answers with a recipient and a subject line.

AI feature band and What’s new strip

A dark plum band carries "Reimagine what’s possible with AI and agents." above five feature lines, the first highlighted in a white pill reading "Review code with GitHub Copilot", beside a dark workspace mockup. Below it, a card row headed "What’s new in Slack" shows "Canvas table of contents" among its updates. The next section, "Give everyone instant context.", pairs "Meet Slackbot: Your personal agent for work." with the figure "97 mins".

Channels, workflows and integrations rows

The section "Let your people connect like people." pairs "It all starts with a channel." with a sidebar mockup. Next, "Manage all your work from one place." leads into "Anyone can automate in Slack." beside a workflow builder titled "Weekly updates" and a "35%" figure. The "Secure. Scaleable. Silo-free." block lists "From Atlassian to Zoom." next to an app grid, with a testimonial credited to "Kate Jenson", Head of Americas at Anthropic.

Statistics, footnotes and footer

A statistics band reads "We’re in the business of growing businesses." above three figures: 90% of users, 43 apps per team and 87% of users. A badge row and "Millions of people love to work in Slack." follow, with 700M messages sent daily. Footnotes sit above a purple band headed "See all that you can accomplish in Slack." The footer lists five link columns, with a "Download Slack" link and a copyright line.

On mobile

At 390 pixels the two hero buttons run full width, and the product mockup becomes a video player. Feature rows drop into one column and the plum band reads as stacked text with video panels beneath. The statistics band still reduces to three stacked figures, 90%, 89% and 36%, and the footer becomes a list of rows marked with chevrons.

Worth borrowing

  • Pairing the headline with a product mockup in the first viewport shows the software before any explanation.
  • Stacking statistics on a deep plum band gives proof points their own full-width pause.
  • Closing with a full-width purple band repeats the primary action after the footnotes.
