Assembly

assembly.com/

Assembly is a conversational app-builder for professional services firms (accounting, agencies, consulting): a user describes an internal or client-facing tool in plain language, approves an AI-generated plan, and gets a live app published to a branded client portal, with hosting, auth, and payments handled by the platform. The homepage is explicit about what it's not for, stating that “public-facing sites... are better built elsewhere,” and distinguishes itself from throwaway AI output with the line “Generation is the easy part.” It walks through a live example of a time-tracking app being built and refined step by step rather than just describing the workflow, and states it does not use customer app or client data to train models.

Assembly design review: how the homepage is built

Assembly is the brand on this page, and the desktop capture runs 7,873 pixels top to bottom. Blocks run in order: a light blue announcement bar (#bbe8f5), a centred hero, a logo row, an industry carousel, a black band, a feature grid, and a dark closing panel above the footer. The palette is restrained, with near-white and near-black fields. Display type is set in PPMori, and the headings carry most of the hierarchy. The hero is a wood-grain photo of a laptop, so the page feels warmer than its white and black fields suggest. The large black band alternating with white is what sets it apart for client-portal sites.

Above the fold

A light blue bar across the top carries the line "Assembly Studio, the AI app builder for professional service firms is here!" The nav reads "Products", "Solutions", "Resources", "Customers" and "Pricing". The hero stacks a "5 stars" and "250+ reviews" pill, the headline, and two pill buttons, "Get started" in black and "Book demo" in pale grey. A wood-grain laptop photo fills the lower fold.

Client logos, industry carousel and black tab band

A row of five client logos follows the hero. Under "Built for tech–enabled professional service firms" a black "Meet our customers" button leads into a carousel of photo cards labelled "Accounting", "Consulting", "Marketing", "Law" and "Real Estate". A black band then opens with three tabs, "Streamline", "Centralize" and "Customize", above a dark panel with a blank upload icon, beside a testimonial quote from an accounting owner.

AI back office, integrations and feature cards

A chat mockup shows the message "@Assembly create invoice for branding" and the reply "Invoice draft created." beneath "Get organized with an AI–powered back office". "Integrate with your existing tools" sits over a grid of app icons. A light section headed "More than just a client portal" then arranges a wide "AI Assistant" card and a wide "Security" card, followed by three narrower cards for "Contracts & eSignatures", "Storefronts" and "Invoicing & Billing".

Closing section and footer

A dark rounded panel reads "Your clients deserve better." above "Try for free, no credit card required." with "Get started" and "Book demo" buttons. The footer repeats the tagline "Create remarkable client experiences" beside social icons. Link columns list features, solutions, platform, comparison, company, resources and blog posts, ending with "Sitemap" and "Blog sitemap". The footer also carries the Assembly logo at its top left.

On mobile

At 390px the hero stacks into one column and the headline wraps to three lines. "Get started" and "Book demo" become full-width bars. The industry carousel shows one card and a sliver of the next. Feature rows become single cards, with each testimonial stacked beneath its block. The footer lists every link in one column, with the social icons placed above the first column.

Worth borrowing

  • Pair a bold headline with one filled and one pale pill button so the primary action stands out.
  • Show range with a horizontal carousel of photo cards labelled by industry.
  • Alternate full-width dark bands with white sections to mark chapter breaks.
