Neon
neon.com/
Neon is a serverless Postgres database platform that has become a full backend — adding managed auth (built on Better Auth), S3-compatible object storage, serverless functions, and an AI model gateway — now operating as part of Databricks, which the homepage states outright with a banner reading "Neon is part of the Databricks Platform" and a note that the acquisition closed in May 2025. Its structure is built around instant database branching for coding agents ("Give every idea its own environment"), and it backs this with adoption figures rather than testimonials alone: 100K+ projects launched, 20M+ databases created, and a stated 70% of Fortune 500 companies building on the wider Databricks platform. Pricing starts at $0 with 100 free projects and scale-to-zero billing.

Neon's landing page, section by section
Each section below is cropped straight from Neon's live page — useful references for engineering & infrastructure landing page design.
Neon design review: how the homepage is built
The Neon homepage runs 9,329 pixels tall on a near-black base, with #010202 and #093527 among the dominant colours recorded in meta.json. Pale mint bands interrupt the dark page twice, and a mint button carries the install command. Display type is set in Inter. The brand on the page matches meta.name. The layout runs from the hero through a row of five product columns, a logo strip, feature sections and a closing band. Its distinctive trait is the terminal-style install command repeated as a call to action, once in the install card and again in the closing band.
Above the fold
The hero sits on a full-width field of vertical green and blue light bars. The headline reads "The backend for apps and agents, built to scale on Lakebase Postgres." above two buttons: "Get started" as a white button and "Read the docs" as an outlined one. An eyebrow line reads "NEON IS PART OF THE DATABRICKS PLATFORM". Five columns headed "Lakebase Postgres.", "Managed Better Auth.", "Functions.", "Object Storage." and "AI Gateway." each carry a description and a thumbnail.
Install card and autoscaling chart
A strip of customer logos follows the hero. The next section, headed "Cloud primitives for the AI Engineering era.", sits beside a dark card reading "Try for yourself, start building with Neon now." with a "$ npx neon init" field. A row labelled "Connect MCP clients to Neon:" lists four client logos. The mint "Advanced autoscaling." section offers a toggle, "Avoid incidents" or "Save costs", above a split area chart captioned "Without Neon" and "With Neon".
Branching, auth and pricing features
The "Instant branching." section runs on black with a timeline graphic tagged "production" and three feature columns headed "Copy-on-write", "Anonymization" and "Ephemerality". The "Managed Better Auth included." section follows with a short paragraph under its heading. A "No platform fees." block then sets six feature cells in two rows of three with thin dividers, starting with "HIPAA and SOC2." and "Private networking." and ending with "Single sign-on."
Closing section and footer
A mint band, eyebrowed "BACKED BY GIANTS", pairs the headline "Trusted Postgres, Backed by Giants." with a stat of 15,000,000 beside "Postgres databases started daily." and a Databricks card. Below, "The world's most advanced backend platform." heads a dark band of branch graphics, followed by "Trusted by developers, ready for agents." and three buttons: "Get started", "Read the docs" and "$ npx neon init". The footer columns are headed "COMPANY", "RESOURCES", "COMMUNITY" and "COMPLIANCE".
On mobile
At 390px the hero headline wraps onto four lines and the navigation collapses into a menu icon. The five product columns become a horizontal row in which the "Managed Better Auth." column is clipped at the right edge. The logo strip shrinks, and the autoscaling chart stacks into two panels, "Without Neon" and "With Neon", above its explanatory paragraph. The closing buttons stack full-width at the bottom of the page.
Worth borrowing
- Pair the install command with the primary call to action.
- Show a split before-and-after chart beside the feature copy.
- Label each product column with a bold name and one plain line.
