Retool
retool.com/
Retool is a low-code platform for building internal business applications that connect to databases, APIs, and LLMs, pitched under the headline "Build internal software better, with AI." It claims 10,000+ teams as customers and backs this with dollar- and hour-specific case studies rather than vague praise: Ramp reports $8M and 20,000+ hours saved, DoorDash $6M and 36,000+ hours, and OrangeTheory a 10x reduction in development time across 1,600 studios. Enterprise logos include Amazon, Stripe, Adobe, Pfizer, and Boeing. Notably, the phrase "vibe-coded apps" appears in its copy — informal, developer-culture slang that sits oddly against the otherwise enterprise-risk-management framing of the rest of the page.

More why choose usRetool design review: how the homepage is built
The Retool homepage runs 9,687 pixels on desktop and stacks a hero with a prompt box, logo rows, an app gallery strip, four feature cards, an enterprise-benefits row, a customer-stats mosaic, a second prompt box, a blog grid and a link footer. The page stays near-black, with cream (#e9ebdf) reserved for the prompt field, the wordmark and the "Start for free" button, while brown (#492219) and navy (#2b3546) glows tint the hero. Headlines use a light-weight grotesque (saansFont) over pxGroteskFont body text. A chat-style input stands in for the main button.
Above the fold
The navigation holds a wordmark, four links, a search icon, "Sign in", an outlined "Book a demo" and a cream "Start for free" pill. Below, "Secure your vibe-coded apps" sits in thin, oversized type over blurred dashboard tiles inside a rounded panel. A "NEW" badge leads into a cream prompt box with a "Starter prompts" dropdown and blue send arrow, flanked by two pill menus. A "Watch the film" button anchors the panel.
Logos, app gallery and feature cards
Two rows of four monochrome logos lead into "Apps that mean business", a two-row strip of dashboard thumbnails cropped at both edges, then a "View app gallery" pill. Four rounded cards follow in the right two-thirds of the page: a chat-and-preview builder, an MCP diagram with a terminal, an "Import React code" drop zone and a cloud of integration icons.
Enterprise benefits and customer proof
"Why enterprises choose Retool" introduces three columns, each with a line icon, a title and a short paragraph. A bordered mosaic follows, opening with a strip of seven logos. Six cells mix statistics such as "Ramp saved $8M and 20,000+ hours" with two photographs captioned "FOR SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS" and "FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES SOLUTIONS". A footer row carries "ISO" and "AICPA SOC 2" badges.
Closing section and footer
"Start today" repeats the prompt box over a full-width illustration of glass panels and a reaching hand. "Get the latest from Retool" shows a bordered grid with one large post and two smaller ones, each with a thumbnail and a "BY" credit. Five link columns, from "PLATFORM" to "COMPANY", precede two small buttons, three social icons, legal links and a cropped cream wordmark spanning the full width.
On mobile
At 390px the page is 10,153 pixels tall and the headline wraps to three lines, breaking "vibe-coded" at the hyphen. The feature cards stack at full width, each captioned below with a title, description and a text link such as "Learn about the app builder". Customer stats form a two-column grid, the photo cells become wide banners, and the footer links fold into two columns.
Worth borrowing
- A pale prompt field against a near-black hero makes the main action a visible input, repeated under "Start today".
- Statistic cells such as "10x increase in patients treated" share one bordered grid with two photo cells, alternating numbers and people.
- On mobile, each feature card gains a caption and text link beneath its image, keeping explanation beside the visual.
