Sanity

sanity.io/

Sanity is a headless content platform pairing a customizable editorial studio with a structured content backend ("content lake"), aimed at powering web, mobile, and AI-driven applications. Its homepage opens with a raw install command, "npm create sanity@latest," ahead of any marketing copy, signaling a developer-first entry point rather than a sales pitch. The page organizes itself around five use-case pillars (content-as-data, editorial workflows, AI agents, automation, application delivery) and backs each with a specific metric rather than a shared claim: "97% reduction" in translation costs, "5X faster" developer velocity, "80 hours" of editorial time saved monthly, and "1M+ users, 6k+ teams."

Sanity design review: what the page does, section by section

The page runs 11,743 pixels at 1440px: announcement bar, nav, hero, orange logo strip, dark product mockups, an orange chat panel, a white feature stack, a testimonial band, an install block, two large buttons and the footer. Colour is near-black #090909 against orange #fe4200, with #c83401 and #461606 as darker accents, and the middle flips to white. Headlines use Waldenburg; nav and labels use IBM Plex Mono. A copyable npm command in the hero marks it as developer-first.

HeroesView crop

A left-aligned two-line headline, "The Content Operations Platform", sits on a flat dark field above a two-line subhead. Three controls follow in a row: an orange "Start building" pill, a white "Watch demo" pill and an outlined, copyable "npm create sanity@latest" field.

FeaturesView crop

Under "Everything your team needs in one place", white blocks keep text in a narrow left column: "The database optimized for content operations", "Programmable automation" and three others. Each has a subhead, four or five bullets and one outlined mono pill such as "CONTENT LAKE".

FootersView crop

Black footer with four mono link columns headed "PRODUCTS", "RESOURCES", "COMPANY" and "TRUST AND COMPLIANCE", with blue count badges beside "Events" and "Careers". "Join our community on Discord" and a white "SUBSCRIBE" pill read as one sentence. A huge wordmark precedes six social icons and a green "ALL SYSTEMS OPERATIONAL" pill.

TestimonialsView crop

A grayscale photo sits behind "Loved by 1M+ users and 6k+ teams". Dithered metric boxes at the centre read "300%", "90%" and "0", beside "GAGA" and "TECOVAS" logos. A quote from Melody Yung of Yung Studio sits bottom left, and an outlined "ALL CUSTOMER STORIES" pill sits bottom right.

FAQsView crop

No FAQ appears in this crop. It shows "Power anything. One API, every platform" over an orange "SANITY CONTEXT" chat panel with three sample questions and an "ASK THE AI AGENT A QUESTION.." input, flanked by dotted panels labelled "MARKETING BOT" and "PRICING BOT".

CTAsView crop

Three centred columns sit under "Less talk, more code": "CLI Install" with a command field, "MCP Server" with six tool icons, and "Agent toolkit" with six framework icons. Two oversized pills follow, an orange "Get Started Now" and a black "Contact Sales", larger than any other button on the page.

PricingView crop

Under "Plans that scale with you", three columns sit in a dotted frame: "Free" at "$0 FOREVER", "Growth" at "$15 PER SEAT / MONTH" with a "WE RECOMMEND" tag, and "Enterprise" with "CUSTOM PRICING". Only Growth gets an orange button, "TRY FOR FREE". Checkmarked lists follow "INCLUDES:".

Contact UsView crop

"Contact us" sits left with four small mono links, such as "JOIN OUR COMMUNITY". On the right, four rule-separated rows, "Sales", "Account support", "Technical support" and "Partners", each pair an arrow with one sentence. A chat bubble offering pricing help overlaps the lower right.

Careers pagesView crop

"Help us change how the world works with content." heads a wide coastline video with a play button. "Open Positions" is a three-column card grid with "TEAM", "LOCATION" and "LOCATION TYPE" filters. "Our Values", "Our benefits", a five-step "Our hiring process" and an orange "Join The Team" button close the page.

Blog pagesView crop

A "Blog" title leads to a featured card split into a black title panel, a green panel with a Sanity plus v0 mark and a white text panel. The capture cuts off mid-title in the first card row; the rest is blank white, so the grid is not visible.

On mobile

At 390px the hero drops the npm command and stacks "Start building" and "Watch demo" full width. Headlines wrap to three or four lines, the logo strip shows one clipped logo, and each feature block gains an image the desktop capture left empty. Footer columns arrange two by two.

Worth borrowing

  • Alternating black hero, white feature stack and black testimonial band gives chapters without divider lines.
  • A copyable npm command beside the primary buttons lets developers act inside the hero.
  • Only "Growth" gets an orange button, steering attention across three equal pricing columns.
