Sentry

sentry.io/

Sentry is an error-tracking and monitoring service for finding and fixing bugs across an application's codebase. Its homepage skips a conventional marketing hero entirely, opening instead with the line "You've hit the web UI. It's HTML meant for humans, not machines," and routing visitors toward an MCP server, CLI, REST API, or documentation rather than product screenshots. There are no customer counts, testimonials, or pricing visible on the page — an absence unusual for a company of Sentry's size — and the copy that remains, like "fastest way to give your agent structured access," is written for a developer already deciding how to integrate rather than one being persuaded to buy.

Sentry design review: what the page does, section by section

The home page runs 8,725 pixels at 1440px wide and stacks a nav bar, a hero, a customer logo strip, a four-card "Developer first. Always." grid, two alternating feature blocks, three testimonials, an install-command block, a compliance badge row, a newsletter form, a closing "Fix It" call to action and a four-column footer. Colour is a dark aubergine ground (#1f1632) with violet panels (#342666, #9c85fb) and a hot pink (#fd44b0) that fills the second half of nearly every headline. Headings use Dammit Sans and Rubik. Flat character illustrations carry the page more than product screenshots.

HeroesView crop

The hero centres "Code breaks, fix it faster" with the word "breaks," in pink and tilted off the baseline. Beneath sit two buttons, "GET STARTED" in white and "SEE HOW IN SANDBOX" with a pink outline. An astronaut illustration is flanked by four small panels, "Errors", "Replays", "Logs" and "Traces", and a green "Seer" panel listing a "Root Cause".

FeaturesView crop

Four bordered cards sit in a two-by-two grid under "Developer first. Always.", each with a gradient pink-to-yellow outline. Each pairs a small illustrative mock-up (a terminal reading "npm install @sentry/browser", a "Root Cause" panel, a bug trace, a chat message) with a bold title such as "Monitor in five lines" and one underlined-link sentence.

FootersView crop

The footer has four columns headed in pink: "Company" with five links, "Platform" with ten, "Solutions" with eleven and "Get Help" with four. All links are uppercase white. A wavy white rule separates them from "TERMS", "SECURITY & COMPLIANCE" and "PRIVACY", a logo pair and four social icons.

CTAsView crop

The closing block is centred under the heading "Fix It", followed by a three-line paragraph about empowering developers without losing velocity. Two buttons mirror the hero pair: a white "TRY SENTRY FOR FREE" and an outlined "GET A DEMO". It sits directly above the footer.

PricingView crop

Four white cards stand on the dark ground: "Developer" at "Free", "Team" at "$26/mo", "Business" at "$80/mo" and "Enterprise" at "Custom". Each lists check-marked features, and each paid tier opens with a cumulative line such as "Developer features +". The first three end in a dark purple "START TRIAL" button; Enterprise has an outlined "CONTACT SALES".

About UsView crop

The about page opens with a dark illustrated banner headed "Working Code, Happy Customers", then switches to white. Yellow-highlighted figures sit inside one sentence under "Numbers That Make Us Look Good". Next come tilted grey bands for "The Humans Behind the Code" with six avatars, a customer logo stack, three city polaroids, press headlines and investor logos. The Vienna polaroid is blank.

Careers pagesView crop

The careers page returns to the dark theme with "Work at Sentry, we have fun" and two buttons. Three city illustrations lead into "Browse our openings", a ruled list grouped under "Engineering", "Marketing", "Sales", "Support" and "Customer Success", each row showing title, uppercase location and an arrow. Lower down are a purple "Our values" panel and nine perks.

On mobile

At 390px the page runs 10,564 pixels and becomes one column. The hero headline wraps to two lines while the logo strip shows only "GitHub" and "Disney". The feature grid turns into a carousel with arrow buttons, and the install command is cut off at "nex". Footer links stack in one long list.

Worth borrowing

  • Colouring only the second half of each headline in one accent, as in "Developer first. Always.", gives every section the same recognisable rhythm.
  • Dimming the inactive bullets beside a screenshot, with a magnifier circle over the product UI, focuses attention without extra copy.
  • Repeating the hero's filled and outlined button pair in the closing block keeps the primary and secondary actions consistent at both ends of the page.
