Span

span.app/

Span tracks AI coding agents from initial prompt through production, linking their execution traces to tickets, pull requests, and business outcomes so engineering leaders can see what AI-assisted work actually cost and shipped. The homepage headline, "The ledger for your AI software factory," is rendered literally in a mockup listing individual line items with dollar costs, such as "$31.60 — KPI Cards Redesign," rather than an abstract dashboard chart. It cites an 88% turn-yield figure benchmarked across 103 teams and includes named testimonials from the CEO of Metronome and the CTO of Writer. The site also runs direct comparison pages against named competitors — Jellyfish, LinearB, DX, Swarmia, Faros, and Weave — rather than a generic feature table.

Span's landing page, section by section

Each section below is cropped straight from Span's live page — useful references for engineering & infrastructure landing page design.

Span design review: how the homepage is built

Span's homepage alternates between a near-black band and a warm light background, #f7f6f4, and uses a saturated yellow, #ffd84b, for every primary button. Blocks run from a light hero through black product panels, a metrics grid, a teal AI agent section, customer quotes and security. Typefaces are Roobert for headings and Roobert Mono for the small uppercase labels. Light and dark sections alternate down the page, so the page reads as a series of distinct chapters. Its distinctive trait is that product screenshots are set inside large coloured frames rather than floated on the page.

Above the fold

The hero sits on the light background, with "Maximize the return on your AI engineering investment" as the headline and "Prompt-to-prod visibility for engineering orgs." beneath it. A yellow "GET A DEMO" button sits under the copy, and a strip above the header announces "New research: Leading indicators of AI coding agent effectiveness." Logos below are headed "TRUSTED BY ENGINEERING LEADERS AT HYPER-GROWTH STARTUPS AND FORTUNE 500 ORGANIZATIONS ALIKE".

Trace, insight and spend panels

The black section "Lead AI transformation with evidence" opens with an abstract ellipse graphic, then an "Observability for agentic development" panel showing a Traces table. "Continuously improve your AI impact" follows with an AI Insights scorecard that reads 4.4 out of 5.0. Two report cards, "Compare AI spend to results" and "Understand the real impact of AI", show bar charts and figures such as "131% faster".

Metrics, workstreams and surveys

Under "Make big engineering teams feel small", the light section shows a PR Cycle Time chart with stage figures such as "16.4h" for coding and "21.2h" for awaiting first review, followed by a workstream map of tiles labelled "Cloud Infrastructure", "Data Workflows" and "Incident consolidation". A "H1 2026 Report" bar chart and a grid of developer experience scores by team close the block.

Agent, customer proof and security

A teal-gradient block headed "Win back time for the work that matters" lists "Prove AI impact", "Rebalance investment", "Scenario planning", "Find bottlenecks", "Explain spend" and "Spot developer friction" as prompt examples. Two cards, "Answers delivered automatically" and "Meet teams where they work", show a team summary and tool logos. Customer proof follows under "The proof is in the people", led by a Fin case study. Security closes the page with "SOC 2 compliant" and "GDPR compliant".

On mobile

At 390px the hero headline changes to "Turn AI power into engineering traction", with "traction" set in purple, a different line from the desktop hero. Sections stack into one column, so the trace and insight panels become tall cards. Logo rows wrap onto two lines, and the six prompt cards stack vertically. Customer cards collapse to one per row, and a yellow "GET A DEMO" button closes the footer band.

Worth borrowing

  • Frame each product screenshot in a coloured block so it reads as a feature rather than a sketch.
  • Lead customer cards with a before-and-after figure so results read before the quote.
  • Close proof on a named quote beside a logo, then give the call to action its own dark band.
