Assemblyai
assemblyai.com/
AssemblyAI provides developer APIs for speech: converting recorded audio and video to text, streaming real-time transcription over a single WebSocket connection, building voice agents that respond in speech, extracting structured data from transcripts, and filtering sensitive content. The homepage headline, “Voice AI infrastructure for developers building products that transcribe, understand, and act on speech,” is followed by a plain list of the six products with no elaboration on the homepage itself. Notably, the page carries no statistics, testimonials, customer logos, or case studies of any kind — an unusually bare homepage for a company at this scale, functioning more as a routing page into product and documentation pages than as a persuasion page.

AssemblyAI's homepage runs about 8,066 pixels tall on desktop and sits on an off-white ground with a deep violet announcement bar and near-black feature bands. Its colour approach uses violet #3923c7 for the announcement bar and primary buttons, with lilac #d9d5f4 for the code panel beside the demo. The listed display face is Oceanic Text, with UN 11ST for body text. The hero is a working API demo rather than an illustration, and the name on the page matches the AssemblyAI entry in the catalog.
Above the fold
A violet bar announces "Universal-3.5 Pro is here." above the navigation. The serif headline "Voice AI infrastructure for builders" sits left of the subhead, which begins "Trusted by millions of developers". Two outlined and filled buttons read "SIGN UP FREE" and "CONTACT SALES". Below, a demo panel offers four tabs, from "REALTIME SPEECH-TO-TEXT API" to "VOICE AGENT API", beside a "TRY IT OUT" button and a lilac code sample.
Customer logos and platform list
A band of customer logos sits under the demo, with a quote from fireflies.ai reading "The new Universal-3.5 Pro speech model from AssemblyAI is best so far". The dark platform block, headed "Everything you need to build with Voice AI.", lists four statements in a column beside a circular code graphic. Three cards follow, "Pre-recorded Speech-to-Text API", "Realtime Speech-to-Text API" and "Sync Speech-to-Text API", each with grey model pills such as "Universal-3.5 Pro".
API grid, infrastructure and pricing
Lower down, "Voice Agent API", "Speech Understanding API" and "Guardrails" fill a row, with "LLM Gateway" spanning the full width and showing "GPT", "Claude", "Gemini" and "Community Models" pills. A bordered card titled "Explore the platform" closes the dark block. The light section "Infrastructure you can build a business on" cites two million hours of audio processed every day, followed by a pricing panel and "Less time configuring tools, more time shipping".
Playground, closing CTA and footer
The playground block, headed "Put our Voice AI models to the test in our no-code playground.", shows a transcript mock beside the button "TRY IT OUT". The dark closing band reads "Unlock the power of Voice AI" with "GET STARTED" and "CONTACT US". The footer has columns headed "PLATFORM", "SOLUTIONS", "USE CASES", "DEVELOPERS", "COMPANY", "RESEARCH", "ROBOTS" and "ARTICLES", ending with "© 2026 AssemblyAI, Inc." and the link "Do not sell my Personal Information".
On mobile
At 390 pixels the headline breaks onto three lines and the demo panel drops beneath the subhead as one card. The logo row becomes a cut-off strip, and the platform cards stack one per row with their pills trimmed at the edge. The three infrastructure blocks stack with their images above the text, and the footer becomes one long column.
Worth borrowing
- The hero shows a working API demo in place of an illustration, so the product is visible at first glance.
- Model pills on each API card name the underlying model, tying each capability to a version.
- Dark and light bands alternate down the page, separating platform cards from the infrastructure claims.
