Betterstack
betterstack.com/
Better Stack sells an observability platform that folds logging, tracing, metrics, error tracking, incident management, and uptime monitoring into one product. The homepage is built almost entirely around a cost comparison with Datadog: it states Datadog would cost roughly $55,574/month for 1TB each of traces, logs, and metrics, versus $687/month on Better Stack, and offers to cover the remainder of a competitor's contract for anyone who migrates. There are no customer logos, ratings, or testimonials anywhere on the page — the entire trust case rests on that price table and a long list of expandable feature sections (AI-assisted incident merging, eBPF-based service maps, SQL log queries) rather than social proof.

Better Stack's homepage is a near-black page with one violet accent, sampled as #171926 for the background and #6b75e5 for buttons and highlights. The desktop capture runs 11700 pixels tall and the mobile capture 13402 pixels. Blocks run top to bottom: a split hero, a cost comparison, product carousels, a customer quote wall and a footer. The page is Better Stack, the brand named in meta.json. Typefaces are Helvetica Now Display for headings and Helvetica Now Text for body copy. Distinctive for observability is the price comparison placed before any product tour.
Above the fold
Above the fold sits a split hero. The headline "The AI SRE observability stack" carries the subhead "30x cheaper than Datadog. Predictable pricing. Exceptional customer support." An email field reads "Your work e-mail" beside a violet "Start for free" button, with "Datadog bill too high? Migrate today, the rest of your contract is on us." beneath. The right half shows a tilted product screenshot captioned "Infrastructure monitoring".
Cost comparison and AI SRE cards
The second band is a cost comparison headed "At a fraction of your current costs". Three "1 TB" figures sit above two bars, Datadog at "approx. $55,574 per month" and Better Stack at "$687 per month". Stats read "80x more data" and "98%". A row headed "AI SRE" follows, its first card "Robust MCP server" beside a chat mockup that asks "How was your day, Mike?"
Product carousels from tracing to status pages
Product carousels follow, each with a "Replaces" line naming rival vendors. Tracing shows "eBPF-based service map" and "Instrument clusters with OpenTelemetry with no code change". Incident management pairs "Slack-based incident management" with "Smart incident merging". Uptime monitoring shows "Screenshots for errors" and "Traceroute & MTR for timeouts". Log, infrastructure, error and session cards follow, ending with "Branded page on your own sub-domain" under status pages.
Closing section and footer
The page closes with a tweet wall in four columns of customer posts. A vendor quadrant chart sits beside the heading "Happy customers, growing market presence", with "Start for free" and a book a demo link beneath. The footer has four link columns headed Solutions, Resources, Company and Community, then a copyright line for 2026. The closing band repeats the hero email field and button, so the page ends where it began.
On mobile
At 390px the hero stacks, with the headline, email field and button full width and the screenshot dropping beneath the copy. The three-column cost card becomes a single stack of "1 TB" blocks, and each carousel shows one card per row with its "Replaces" line below. Quote cards go single-column behind a "Show more" control, and footer columns stack vertically.
Worth borrowing
- Lead with a price comparison early so the cost argument arrives before the feature list.
- Pair each product carousel with a "Replaces" row naming the tools it displaces.
- Keep one violet primary button as the only accent on a near-black surface.
