Context
context.dev/
Context.dev sells a unified API that lets software and AI agents pull structured data from the web — scraping, crawling, document parsing, brand-intelligence lookups, and site monitoring — without teams building that infrastructure themselves. Its pricing is unusually plain for the category: one successfully scraped page costs one credit, with no surcharge for JavaScript rendering, anti-bot bypass, or proxies, and failed requests aren't billed at all. The site also documents an 'agentic authentication flow' via a published auth.md file, letting an AI agent sign up and retrieve its own API credentials without a human in the loop — a detail aimed squarely at agent builders rather than traditional developers. It backs the pitch with SOC 2 Type I certification, a 99.9% enterprise uptime SLA, and Y Combinator backing.

More blog pagesContext design review: how the homepage is built
The Context homepage, titled "Context.dev" on the page, runs about 12,589 pixels on desktop. Blocks go top to bottom: an announcement banner, a hero with a URL input, a two-row logo wall, a before-and-after comparison, setup cards, a tabbed code showcase, feature cards, three numbered steps, testimonials, a black customer-story band with a blog strip, an eighteen-question FAQ, a blue closing banner and a dark footer. Blue #2563eb dominates, with #8ec5ff accents and purple gradient panels. IBM Plex Sans is the display face, and key words in headings are tinted blue.
Above the fold and logo wall
A gradient banner reads "Introducing /answers: web research in one API call". The navigation holds "Features", "Use Cases" and "Customers" dropdowns, "Pricing", "Integrations", "Docs", an outlined "Book a Call" and a black "Sign Up". The hero adds "Backed by Y Combinator", "Web data {API} for AI agents" and a search box with tabs from "Extract" to "Screenshot". Below, "Powering products and agents at" introduces twelve logos in two rows of six.
Comparison, setup cards and code showcase
"From maintaining data infrastructure to shipping product features" splits into a grey "Before" list and a purple "After" card, five lines each. "Set it up your way." follows: a white "Do it yourself" card with three numbered steps beside a purple "Let your agent do it" card tagged "RECOMMENDED", with a dark terminal and "Copy Agent Setup". "The {APIs} powering your next feature" pairs an eight-item tab list with a dark code editor on purple.
Feature cards, steps and testimonials
"From web scraping to brand extraction in one API." shows six rounded cards in two columns, each with a title, short copy and a small demo. Numbered "01" to "03" steps sit beside the heading "Get web data into your product in just three steps". "What developers say" arranges five quote cards, one wider, each with a photo and a "Read the case study" button.
Customers, blog, FAQ and footer
A black band, "See how our customers do it", shows three green and purple story cards with "Read their story" buttons and carousel dots, then "The Blog" with three cards. The FAQ lists eighteen collapsed questions in two columns with plus icons. A blue banner states "Ship an agent that actually knows things." with "Get API Access" and "Book a call". The dark footer has four link columns, a SOC 2 badge and an oversized "context.dev" wordmark.
On mobile
At mobile width the input's tabs cut off after "Markdown", leaving a clipped "B" and "+5". The logo wall becomes a single cropped row. "Before" and "After" stack, as do the two setup cards, and feature cards and testimonials run in one column. The FAQ becomes one column, the blog shows one card with dots, and footer links fall into two columns.
Worth borrowing
- Tinting one key phrase per heading blue, as in "{API}" and "shipping product features", links every section to the hero.
- A grey "Before" list set against a purple "After" card makes the value argument visible without any extra copy.
- A "RECOMMENDED" tag on the agent-setup card steers visitors toward one path while the manual steps stay visible.
