Beside
beside.com/
Beside combines a business phone line with an AI receptionist that answers calls, qualifies leads, and books appointments, layered with a CRM, website builder, Google Ads management, and review management aimed at local businesses like beauty salons and home-services companies. The homepage's central line frames its differentiation plainly: “Other tools give you a dashboard. Beside does the work.” It states a specific, unusually large customer count and rating together, 4.8 stars by 21,000+ paying businesses, and invites visitors to “dial the live demo” and test the AI receptionist directly rather than watch a recorded video. It also runs a waitlist incentive, a $1,000 ad-credit drawing for the first 1,000 signups to its full OS platform.

More blog pagesBeside design review: how the homepage is built
The desktop page runs about 10,240px tall in a near-monochrome scheme: #fefefe is the ground, #e9e9e9 and #c9c9c9 carry the cards and dividers, and #888888 is the darkest grey in the detected palette. Headings are set in Inter. The hero sits on a dotted grid. The homepage is built around a phone line, shown as call transcripts and contact cards rather than dashboards, with a feature section, a grid, an integrations block and an FAQ below it. Dark type on white keeps the long scroll legible, and grey rules between sections are the only ornament.
Above the fold
Above the fold, a thin top banner reads "Beside is building the AI operating system that runs your local business." with "Join waitlist →". The hero headline is "Make your business phone work for you", with the subhead "Unlike a traditional phone number, Beside completes work on its own." On the left are the buttons "Try for free" and "Call to try it live". On the right, stacked cards show an SMS draft with "Allow Send" and "Don't Allow".
Phone-line demo and live call block
A row of six tabs labelled "Voicemail Receptionist", "Generate Quotes", "Callback Requests", "Contact Memory", "Self-Training Agent" and "Send SMS" sits over a phone mockup. The mockup's cards read "Contact created" and "Mold Testing Inquiry", and a note reads "AI labels every conversation so you never lose context." Below it, a "LIVE DEMO" block carries the line "Give it a try now." and offers a "Call now" button beside the number +1 (424) 855-1231.
Feature rows and small-business grid
Under "Your agent works for your business", three rows sit beside a card reading "2x" with "Time saved". The rows are "Agent handles calls", "Qualifies leads" and "Handles after-hours". Further down, a four-card row headed "Built for small businesses" holds "Book jobs while you work", "Never miss a showing request", "Dispatch without the desk" and "Staff your front desk with AI".
Closing section and footer
The integrations block lists six logos in a grid under "Integrates with your tools", including Attio, Follow Up Boss and HubSpot. "Start using Beside today" precedes three rows: "Bring your existing phone lines", "Get new numbers for your team" and "Connect your tools". Ten FAQ items follow, with answers collapsed behind plus icons, and the footer has four link columns headed RESOURCES, COMPANY, LEGAL and CONNECT.
On mobile
At 390px the navigation collapses to the logo, a "Try for free" button and a menu icon, and the hero headline wraps onto three lines. Rows that sit side by side on desktop, such as the "Qualifies leads" list beside the "2x" card, stack into a single column. The six integration logos become one column, and the footer link groups reflow into two columns.
Worth borrowing
- Pair one product screen with a phone-call transcript to show the outcome a visitor gets rather than interface chrome.
- Anchor a feature list with a single stat card, such as "2x" with "Time saved".
- Split a category grid into four use-case cards, each with an icon, a bold title and one short line.
