Boardy design review: how the homepage is built
The page is written in Boardy's own first-person voice and runs from a chat-style hero through a logo row, an explainer, a wall of posts, a giant introduction counter, a live globe, three how-it-works blocks, a scheduling pair, a meeting mock and a "Message me." close, 9238 pixels tall on desktop. A warm off-white ground carries navy #172335 type and a single blue, #006ee6, for every button and highlighted word. Raleway Variable sets the wide display headlines and Geist Variable the interface text. The distinctive device is a pill-shaped message box prefilled with "a tier 1 VC" that recurs down the page.
Above the fold
The header holds only the logo, an "Events" link and a blue "Message me" pill. The centred two-line headline sits over a subhead and a wide input reading "Introduce me to" plus "a tier 1 VC". Below, a chat card shows "know anyone for my seed round?" answered by "found someone you should meet", ringed by eight app icons on a dotted arc, with "WhatsApp" highlighted. A logo row closes the fold.
Explainer, social wall and counters
"How do you know who I should meet?" is a left-aligned heading over one paragraph. "Don’t take my word for it." introduces a three-column masonry of twelve X and LinkedIn posts, each with avatar, handle and platform icon, followed by follower pills such as "48.8k" and "126k". An oversized "293,591+" over "introductions made." fills the next band. A blue globe then sits beside "1,736" under a green "LIVE" dot.
How an intro happens and AI drafting
"How an intro happens." lists three numbered steps beside a phone mock of a text thread and two floating cards, one a profile of the person introduced. "Your AI knows you. I know people." repeats the three-step pattern beside an email drafted by ChatGPT, with "ChatGPT" and "Claude" toggle tabs above it. Both blocks use the same hairline-separated list with small blue step numbers.
Scheduling, meetings and closing section
"After the intro, I handle the scheduling." splits into two columns, "Connect your calendar once." with a week grid and "CC me to book the meeting." with an email thread and a blue booking card. "Bring me into any meeting." shows a three-tile video call. "Message me." repeats the input above eight app icons. The footer has the tagline "The AI superconnector." and three columns: "Product", "Company" and "Follow".
On mobile
At 390px the page is shorter than on desktop, 6409 pixels. The subhead drops and the chat card moves above the input, with a "Message me on WhatsApp" button added. The posts become one column, the counter and globe stack, and the AI-drafting, scheduling and meeting blocks are left out. The closing section lays the apps out as a labelled four-by-two icon grid.
Worth borrowing
- Repeating one prefilled message box down the page keeps the single action, sending Boardy a request, always visible.
- Writing every heading in the first person, as in "Bring me into any meeting.", turns an AI agent into a character.
- Pairing a live "1,736" daily count with an animated globe and a "Pause animation" control makes usage feel current.
