Hebbia

hebbia.com/

Hebbia builds AI tools for financial institutions - investors, bankers, lawyers, and consultants - to analyze large volumes of documents and financial data, describing itself as 'AI built for the rigor of finance.' Its hero framing, 'Institutional Intelligence,' deliberately positions the product against consumer AI tools. The site names two core products directly: Max, described as 'your new top bucket analyst' for collaborative deal work, and Matrix, described as managing 'the infinite workforce' by laying data out in structured comparison tables. It lists more than 40 specific data source integrations (SEC filings, earnings transcripts, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Preqin) and displays client logos including Morgan Stanley, MetLife, and Latham & Watkins alongside case studies that cite specific file counts and deal team sizes.

Hebbia design review: how the homepage is built

The Hebbia homepage runs 8,613 pixels on desktop as one continuous near-black page. Blocks run: a hero, a full-bleed skyline image, two rows of logos, a bento grid of product panels, a statistics trio, a single testimonial, an industry carousel, a security icon grid, a laptop image and the footer. Colour stays dark and warm (#382417, #563b28, #eeecdd), with #465bff reserved for buttons and #98c5c5 as a sky tone. Headlines use serif faces Selecta and Edict Display, and the oversized ghosted wordmark at the bottom is a distinctive finishing device. Photography replaces illustration throughout.

Above the fold

A slim top bar holds the logo, six links ("Max" through "Pricing"), "Sign in" and a white "Request a demo" button. Beneath a small "AI FOR FINANCE" label, the serif headline "INSTITUTIONAL INTELLIGENCE" sits in capitals at lower left, followed by one sentence and a single blue "Request a demo" button. A bronze radial-blade photograph fills the right half. A skyline image follows, then eight greyscale firm logos in two rows.

Product bento grid

"Your firm's knowledge at work" introduces an asymmetric grid. A wide "Max" tile shows a blue ring of blades, beside a lavender "Collaborate with the entire deal team" tile with stacked project cards and a blue "Publish" tag. Below, a narrow tile titled "Context for better decisions" holds about twenty data-source pills, and a wide "Matrix" tile shows a spreadsheet with rows rated "Strong" or "Situational", cropped at the right edge.

Statistics, quote and industries

"High finance, without friction" heads three equal cards, each with an image above a large serif figure: "$30T", "200K" and "1.5B". A centred portrait and a quote, "It used to take our team 12 hours a day to go through diligence docs", credit Steve Scolnik of Apogem Capital. A carousel of tall interior photographs follows, labelled "Investing", "Banking", "Legal" and "In-House", each with a grey sub-caption, the fourth cropped.

Security grid and footer

"Built for the world's most demanding institutions" heads a three-by-two grid of hairline cells, each pairing a metallic 3D icon with a caption such as "SOC 2 Type II" or "GDPR". A dimly lit laptop showing a "Hi, I'm Max" prompt closes the content. The footer has six small-caps link columns and a giant ghosted "Hebbia" wordmark above the copyright line.

On mobile

At 390px the hero centres its text, the menu collapses into a button and the demo button sits below the headline. Bento tiles stack in one column, and the data-source pills run off the edge. Statistics become a horizontal scroller. Industry cards form a two-by-two grid, security icons a two-by-three grid, and footer links two columns.

Worth borrowing

  • Anchor a dark page with one saturated blue button, so the only repeated action, "Request a demo", is always the brightest object.
  • Set serif display type against a sans body to signal institutional seriousness without ornament, as in "INSTITUTIONAL INTELLIGENCE".
  • Use a mixed-size bento grid with cropped real interface content, such as the "Matrix" table, to show product depth.
